At one end there is the Tammsaare Museum, at the other the Vilde Museum, and in the middle an apartment building built for Estonian writers, where several beloved writers still live today and where the Mati Unt Museum is now open.<\/p><p>The aim of the Literary Street Festival is to draw attention to Estonian literature, literary heritage and the literary public space around us. To do this, for one day we are inviting organisations directly or indirectly involved in literature to come together on the street, with whom a rich cultural programme will be created. In addition to the literary crowd, we will also bring together the local community, who will contribute with courtyard caf\u00e9s and are involved in the programme. The festival was also nominated in the &#8220;Friend of the Community 2018&#8221; category at the Estonian Museums Awards.<\/p><p>With each festival, we also want to map the local cultural heritage. In the first year (2017) we opened a memorial bench to Kadriorgian Mati Unt, in 2018. a plaque on the wall of the house at Weizenberg 8, where Marie Under and Artur Adson once lived for some time. 2019. we enriched the urban space with a plaque commemorating Juhan Jaig. 2020. we marked one of the places associated with the writer &#8211; a memorial to Enn Soosaare was opened. At the fifth Festival we unveiled a memorial plaque to C. R. Jakobson\u00a0 in the garden of Poska 35. The sixth festival started with the unveiling of a memorial plaque on the house where Ellen Niit lived in her youth. On the seventh festival we opened the memorial bench for Juhan Viiding.
